This presentation will explore how to evaluate medical experts, how to communicate pertinent case information to the medical experts and how to best utilize medical experts during the trial proceedings.
About the Speakers
Jan Mulligan, Esq.
Ms. Mulligan has her own law firm, and serves as co-counsel with other law firms. In addition to maintaining her private law practice, Ms. Mulligan serves as both an arbitrator and a party arbitrator, and has done so for the last ten years. Ms. Mulligan frequently teaches courses in medical malpractice, legal malpractice trends in personal injury law, and trial techniques.
Ms. Mulligan is currently a Delegate to the American Bar Association House of Delegates, Past Chair of the American Bar Association's TIPS Medicine and Law Committees, a member of past chair of the American Bar Association's Special Committee on Medical Professional Liability, and Past Chair of the Lawyers Club of San Diego's Judicial Endorsements Committee. Ms. Mulligan also serves as a Master of the Louis B. Welsh Inn of Court.
Dr. William Norcross
Dr. Norcross graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine in 1974. He did his residency in Family Medicine at the UCSD Medical Center and never looked back, having now been at UCSD for over 30 years. Dr. Norcross holds the rank of Clinical Professor of Family Medicine, and was Residency Director from 1986 through 1999. He founded the UCSD PACE Program in 1996 and has been the Director ever since. His purpose in creating the PACE Program was to help doctors be the best they could be.
